I spoke to a friend of mine last night and she said she finally weened herself off of sleep aids and is now taking Melatonin. I had another friend suggest that I try it, too. So I bought some last Thursday. I've been taking it ever since. The best night's sleep I had was Friday night. Slept all night and didn't wake up once. I keep thinking it must stress that won't turn my brain off so I can get some rest. All day in my cubical at work, I know I could take a nap at any moment, so why I can't sleep all night??
At this point, I know enough that it's my hormones. (BLAH!) What I don't like is that when I do wake up there are all these random thoughts running through my head. I mean random. I've decided to keep a journal again. I think this will help me get back on track. Not getting any rest is also keeping me from my 5:30 a.m. appointment with the gym. If I can't go to the gym, I can't use up this "extra" energy. If I can't use up the extra energy, I can't sleep. If I can't sleep, I won't get up to go to the gym. It's one of the worst cycles I've ever encountered. I'm ready for more afternoon daylight so I can get outside in the evenings and get some exercise then.
Have you ever had trouble sleeping? What are some things you've done to help yourself get back in the groove?
Happy Tuesday!
xoxo,
Laurie

I have trouble sleeping sometimes, particularly if I'm excited or worried about something..I literally won't be able to stop my mind from racing!
I definitely have trouble falling asleep if I have a lot on my mind (which seems to happen a lot!). I try to turn off the tv and not have any screen time (phone/computer) 30 minutes before bed. I think that helps but it isn't always easy!
