Throwback Thursday

Ah...another new post.  What? That's more posts this week than I had last month.  Well, I'm getting smarter. I'm pre-writing and ready to post them every morning.  I'm quite proud of myself for being smarter, but let's just see how long I last.

I keep seeing these instagrams and things for Throwback Thursdays and now that you know I don't like to be left out, I'm joining in the fun....or is it funny?  I thought with my birthday looming coming next week, it would be fun to throw back to my birthday in 1989.  It was my freshman year of college.  I was enrolled at Peace College, living in Raleigh, and having a blast.  Here are some fabulous photos from my 19th birthday celebration at Darryls on Hillsborough Street (yeah...you remember Darryls).  My roommate had invited all my closest friends and my crush to my birthday.  I was mortified and ecstatic all at once.
Please feel free to make fun of my hair (or really anything else about my outfit).  It was about two snips away from being the woman mullet.  My earrings?  Oh yes, they were my favorite.  They look like elephant tusks. My outfit?  The Limited.  I only wish I could see my shoes.  I have an idea of what they were....I had some loafers (or were they flats) that everyone wore.  All I can say now is, what was I thinking?  I was thinking I was hot, I'm sure.  Little did I know it was a HOT MESS.
Back in the 80's, Darryls didn't bring you a dessert with a candle....they brought you a whole dang candelabra.  Good thing my girls were on hand to help me get that thing out!  Can you see my shoulder pads in that shirt??  WHOA!

So here's to my 19 year old self!

Happy Thursday!

xoxo,
Laurie

Hey we all looked like that in the 80's!
And Darryls, I had totally forgotten about that place! I was at Salem College in Winston-Salem and we had one within walking distance!

I totally love this idea. I am going to instagram old bday photos on the eve of my bday in March.
