It started out a little rough with Lori finding out her dad's brain tumor (non-cancerous) had returned. He's been living with this tumor for years and has had it removed, operated on with a gamma knife (radiation) but now, at his age (in his 70's), they aren't sure of the plan of action just yet. So Thursday was tricky. Friday night was a rallying around her to make sure she was having fun.
Friday night, we went over to Karen's. Lately, it's turned into Club Karen where you can sing Karen-oke anytime you want. Just add a large spoon or turkey baster and you've got your own personal microphone. We laughed and had a great time. I think it helped Lori relax, too. Nothing like a good dose of laughter to get you in a better frame of mind.
Saturday, we all met up at our favorite local tavern to watch the Carolina vs. State game. It was a great game up until the middle of the second half when State lost their mojo. I much prefer a close game to a blowout. We had a huge table divided equal of State and Carolina fans. Our old friend, Shelly, was up there with her brother and boy did we have fun catching up with her. I've known Shelly since we went to first grade. She moved a whopping 30 minutes away so I rarely see her. We had lots of laughs. State lost, but playing in Chapel Hill, that was expected (at least from me).
Sunday was low-key. I had chores to do and laundry to be done. We did some neighbor hopping and ended with a dinner with the Andrews girls at Lori's. We always have so much more food than we need, but it was all yummy. Burgers and dogs, salad, sauteed cabbage, and mashed potatoes.

Happy belated birthday!! (You said late Feb, so maybe happy early birthday?)
That's fun that you're all so close.
I hope Lori's dad isn't in a lot of pain. That stinks :(
