Where Does the Time Go?

Well, as usual, the first day of daylight savings time is flying by. Never mind that I probably slept 10 hours last night. The day is still flying by.  The term time flies is floating around my brain. I've so much to do today and I feel like I've wasted half the day (it's only 11 am).  At least I'm well rested, right?

Yesterday, I made my first trip to the Candy Factory in Lexington, NC.  I had always heard about it, but I had never been.  My sister and mom wanted to go and shop for Easter goodies for all the baskets and I was up for a short road trip.  (I can't believe Easter 3 weeks away).  My other sister, we'll call her Jilian Michaels because she's also the "trainer" of our little family weight loss challenge, couldn't make the trip with us because of other family commitments.  She did, however, send text messages warning of any personal purchases.
The Candy Factory is the cutest place to shop for old fashioned candies, fudge, chocolates, Red Bird candy sticks and buds, and the most unique holiday items.  The ladies working the shop were so nice and friendly.  We had my youngest nephew in tow.  He's just a little baby and I carried him around the shop while my sister filled his car seat with goodies for his brothers.  This was the perfect job for me.  It kept this choco-holic from spending too much time looking at all the delights.  I'm sure I could have spent half my paycheck and  justified it as "Easter Goodies."

If you're ever near Lexington (downtown is just off Business 85 in the heart of NC), you should stop by the shop.  It's right on Main Street and with that candy stripe awning, you can't miss it!  Lexington has a thriving downtown area with lots to see, then you can make your way to one of the fabulous eateries for some good ol' Lexington style barbecue.  It's a win-win combination!

Happy Sunday!

xoxo,
Laurie

I've felt behind all day! Daylight savings day always does it to me.

Excuse me while I go scrounge around the house for some candy.
